Pictured below is the Main Mass of the
meteorite, Sahara 99898. Despite much of this specimen appearing
relatively unshocked (as can be seen in the second image), there
is clearly a huge shock vein running through one face. This
glassy black vein measures up to 10mm wide with numerous
extremely fine veins webbing away from it. There are also
several islands of less shocked/unshocked material floating
throughout the main vein. This specimen is part
of the Meteorites Australia Collection (MA.05.0078).
