NWA 4025 (CB3a) - 2.05g Endcut with Pyroxene
Northwest Africa 4025
(NWA 4025) was discovered during 2005 somewhere in the Sahara
Desert in the form of 69 pieces with a Total Known Weight of
just 745.5g. It has been classified as a very rare Carbonaceous
Chondrite, CB3a with a Shock Rating of S3 and
Weathering Level of W3.
Most of the pieces are
comprised primarily of metallic Fe/Ni however a very few pieces
have intact Pyroxene chondrules/nodules such as the one visible
near the top-left side of this specimen. This lightly-etched
endcut is part of the Meteorites Australia Collection
(MA.05.0098).
