NWA 722 (El Kachla)

NWA 722, also known as El Kachla is a meteorite that was discovered in Morocco near El Kachla. NWA 722 has a Total Known Weight (TKW) of 4.08kg and has been classified a rare L-Chondrite Impact Melt Breccia. It has undergone severe shock when two bodies collided in space and as such, many of the pieces exhibit heavy melting. The 7.70g Endcut pictured below is just such an example and is part of the Meteorites Australia Collection.
